I'm gonna be honest， I'm a bit disappointed。 After reading and loving the previous book， I was so excited to read about Ashlyn and Jace。 I love me a good forbidden romance。 I liked the idea of the nanny/single dad romantic relationship plus the age gap with him being a friend/employee of her father’s。 It seemed like there was going to be some angst and drama。That is not what I got however。 The first 30% of the book was about the romance and had romcom feels。 I enjoyed the beginning of the book a I'm gonna be honest， I'm a bit disappointed。 After reading and loving the previous book， I was so excited to read about Ashlyn and Jace。 I love me a good forbidden romance。 I liked the idea of the nanny/single dad romantic relationship plus the age gap with him being a friend/employee of her father’s。 It seemed like there was going to be some angst and drama。That is not what I got however。 The first 30% of the book was about the romance and had romcom feels。 I enjoyed the beginning of the book and was having a great time。 It was cute， funny， and had mutual pining。 But once they got together （pretty quick and drama free） the story quickly became about his kids and his custody battle。 The romance felt like it was overshadowed by the side plots。 I didn’t feel the romance throughout the story and I didn’t really care about the side characters or plot which made the book drag for me。I also think more intimate scenes would have been a boon。 There were only 1-2 of them and I definitely wanted more; especially since they were steamy and good！I would say I liked the beginning but the middle and end made this an okay read for me。*Thank you to Valentine PR & the author for providing an advanced readers copy。 I voluntarily read and reviewed it。 All thoughts and opinions are my own。* 。。。more

We're back in the small town of Honey Mountain with the third book in the series by the same name from Laura Pavlov！ Make You Mine is a standalone， as were the first two Honey Mountain novels， Always Mine and Ever Mine， but there are recurring characters and potential spoilers with regards to what happened in the aforementioned books。 That being said， this is Ashlan Thomas and Jace King's story， the former having just graduated from college and is the youngest among the Thomas sisters， each of w We're back in the small town of Honey Mountain with the third book in the series by the same name from Laura Pavlov！ Make You Mine is a standalone， as were the first two Honey Mountain novels， Always Mine and Ever Mine， but there are recurring characters and potential spoilers with regards to what happened in the aforementioned books。 That being said， this is Ashlan Thomas and Jace King's story， the former having just graduated from college and is the youngest among the Thomas sisters， each of whom gets a book in this series， and the latter being one of the firefighters who work under the Thomas sisters's father， Captain Jack Thomas， whom he considers a mentor and very close friend。Le sigh。 I totally adored Ashlan and Jace's story！ These two had the whole sexual tension thing going on， due in large part to their resistance of what was blossoming between them。 I loved that there wasn't this protracted issue regarding Ashlan's dad， and that the ten-year age difference wasn't made into this overly big deal。 Their respective support systems were top-notch， and having such a great bunch of peripheral characters--from Ashlan's family to the other firefighters Jace considers family--but it's Jace's daughters， Paisley and Hadley that are the absolute standouts。 Seeing this family come together and find their happily-ever-after is the biggest reason why Make You Mine receives five stars。 。。。more

Jace and Ashlan are the sweetest but this book definitely packs an emotional punch。 I loved seeing the depth of their connection and watching Ashlan fall in love not only with Jace but his girls as well。‘But the man was burning hot。 Like nothing I’d ever experienced。’Honey Mountain is such a special place。 The focus on family and friends is such a huge part of every story - you can’t help but fall a little more in love with the town right along with the characters。
